Buffalo Area Cultural Community Hosts Fundraiser for Ukraine

The Italian Cultural Center joined dozens of other cultural organizations to organize a fundraiser for the Ukrainian support effort on Sunday afternoon.

BUFFALO, NY — The cultural community of Erie County is united in support of Ukraine.

The Italian Cultural Center joined dozens of other cultural organizations to organize a fundraiser for the Ukrainian support effort on Sunday afternoon.

They served refreshments, organized children’s activities and performances. They also had raffle baskets and paid activities that helped raise money for the cause.

The organizers say that cultural and ethnic heritage is essential to many of our local organizations, which is why they have all come together for a common goal.

“I think seeing all of us together seeing all the organizations we represent,” according to Lindsey Lauren Visser, deputy director of the Italian Cultural Center.

“We took a group photo in front of our flags earlier, and I think just seeing everyone standing together was so powerful, and my heart was ready to burst, just seeing how much everything the world held together, and how united we were as a culture organization, and it’s just amazing to see the incredible things that we can see when we come together.

The cost of admission and all other fundraising goes directly to the effort through the Dnipro Ukrainian Cultural Center.
